Though the road, which leads to the largest industrial park in Nigeria, West Africa and the wider region — AGBARA INDUSTRIAL PARK, it is classified as a Federal Road.

Residents of Atan, Lusada, Igbesa, Agbara and other neighbouring communities in Ogun State, are beginning to heave a sigh of relief with the flag off of the reconstruction of the Agbara – Atan road.

This dual carriage road had suffered neglect, despite its importance to the economic development of the country and to allow products and goods manufactured in Nigeria to flow easily to the hinterland.

It is sad that over the years, its state of disrepair had taken serious toll on several industries located on the axis.

Since inception, however, the Dapo Abiodun-led administration had signified its interest in fixing the road. The governor had declared that all infrastructural projects abandoned by his successor would be completed, albeit with a proviso.

According to Abiodun, only projects that have direct economic impact on the lives of the Ogun State people would be continued and completed. This, the governor has demonstrated by completing some of the road projects in the above category.

enhancing West Africa´s leading industrial & logistics park

Governor Dapo Abiodun stated this at the opening ceremony of the 10th Gateway International Trade Fair titled, ‘Transforming Agriculture and Commerce in a Highly Competitive Global Market.’

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Abiodun, Mr Kunle Somorin, said the road would ease vehicular and pedestrian movement in the area.

Hon. Dapo Abiodun

As highlighted by Paulo Cruz, the chief executive officer of the LandAfrique group, “The governor acknowledges the nations importance of Ogun´s manufacturing hub, whereas AGBARA INDUSTRIAL PARK has been pioneering for more than four decades and accommodates local and multinational made-in-Nigeria producing companies. These Agbara Atan road works fall in line with the recent rehabilitation of the Lagos Badagry Expressway and resets the importance of this strategic logistic location and axis. LandAfrique, the parent company of Agbara Estates Ltd is committed with further enhancing West Africa´s leading industrial & logistics park with renewed and robust infrastructures”.
